All play equipment here at The Brambles Childrens Day Nursery includes material, which reflect our multi cultural society and help to provide positive images of gender, race and differing abilities.
It is part of the ethos of the nursery that each child is appreciated as an individual although encouraged to show kindness and consideration to each other.
Daily Activities: All age groups units enjoy a program of daily activities, and how your child responds and develops is documented and discussed at the end of each day.
A home from home atmosphere giving your child warmth, security and fun with ample floor space for crawling and playing. All toys are selected to aid stimulation both imaginatively and intellectually, e.g. activity centres, mobiles, soft toys, rattles, play mirrors, stories, tapes, music and singing. A secure, outdoor, soft matting play area allows the babies to enjoy fresh air and natural sunlight.
As the children develop and ‘find their feet’, they move into the Infant room. More mobile now for the sit on rides, play house, cars, dolls, paints, crayons, baking, standard water play – all to assist and promote their artistic progress.
Moving into the Toddlers Room the children are prompted to learn and recite nursery rhymes, to converse with their nursery friends and staff. Books are freely available at all times. Toddlers are encouraged to feed themselves, drink from cups and sit on chairs – all sociable activities.
Pre School Room
Growing up fast! Home corner, puzzles, construction, small world, craft & messy play, sand, dough and water, music, movement dance, book corner, singing, story sacks and more. Accessed directly from this room is its own 1500 square feet of secure garden. Here the large lawn, sandpit and defined bark play area with wooden stepping stones, mirrors and rubber tyres, provides the children with outdoor enjoyment.
Sensory / Sleep Room
By providing varied and different stimulus, this room offers to all nursery children the opportunity to develop their Sight, Sound, Touch and Smell sensory skills. Within the Sensory Room children can use their imagination utilising the reading garden, puppet theatre, dressing up rail and heuristic play section. This room also ensures that each child enjoys their needed quiet and rest time, by converting into a sleep area.
In addition to the Pre School outdoor area, there is to the rear of the nursery a separate large and secure play garden, with lawned, paved, soft matting, digging, sensory, mini woodland, vegetable patch and bug areas.
